Got a juicer. Found a brand new Breville Juice Fountain Elite (yay! the stainless steel one) on Craigslist for $75 off Amazon. The girl I bought it from said she had bought it to start juicing and be healthy, but it sat on her counter for two years. She never even plugged it in. I didn't really believe her at first, but turns out she was telling the truth. Once an apple has passed its pleasingly large feed chute, it'd be next to impossible to clean this thing up good enough to look new. Plus the stickers were still on it. I resisted the temptation (barely) to juice anything I could get my hands on other than the expensive organic stuff I bought yesterday. The beautiful machine really needed to go through the dishwasher first.
Today I ate a cucumber, a big green pepper, a big orange pepper (man, they're sweet!) and two apples. I didn't intend to eat so little but I had a migraine and slept for a few hours. I was also taking spit samples for a test my doctor wants me to mail off (that's loads of fun, by the way, sit around and spit in a tube for a while... you somehow eventually begin to forget how to do it and it becomes awkward to say the least). My friend Jamie texted me to go to lunch tomorrow and I get to see her so little that I must go. I can get a salad. I'm still in the eating veggies portion of the plan. I'll have to extend my eating veggies another day or two to make sure that's out of my system before I begin just juicing.
